Intel has announced its new platform in mobile computing: Next Generation Intel Centrino Duo Processor Technology (codename: Santa Rosa). The official name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but perhaps that's because this is a whole lot more than just a new processor. Intel's latest includes some upgrades that will be universal to all products that come with the processor, and other upgrades that are optional. Tailor-made for Windows Vista, this new mobile platform promises to pump up the graphics and video eye-candy, increase Wi-Fi speed, and provide an overall boost in notebook performance without sacrificing battery life. We'll walk you through all of these new capabilities and then go hands-on with full reviews of six notebooks using this latest Intel technology, from Tablet PCs and business workhorses to multimedia powerhouses.
