Will Your XP Gadgets Work with Vista?

Anyone who's not a jaded tech writer will find that it's quite easy to fall prey to the hoopla surrounding Windows Vista. Microsoft's hype machine went into overdrive leading up to the operating system's launch, as it pumped up its new OS. We LAPTOP folk, however, have seen it all when it comes to tech, and possess a somewhat skeptical eye when it comes to new, overly hyped, technologies and product announcements. Though we've tested Vista backwards and forwards, we decided to run one more test --one we'll call the Gadget Test. We gathered up several random made-for-XP gadgets and accessories, plugged them into our Vista laptop, and waited to see if they'd function in the new environment. The results are shocking, even to tech skeptics like us.
