Today, Samsung lifted the curtain on the Samsung BlackJack II, the followup to the company's sleek, full-featured smart phone. The 3G-enabled BlackJack II offers several amenities designed to keep the mobile professional productive while on the go.

Available in two colors (Black and Red Wine), the BlackJack II features a full QWERTY keyboard, 2.4-inch QVGA display, two-megapixel camera, a louder and clearer speakerphone, and a front jog wheel for swift navigation. The BlackJack II contains built-in GPS technology, which provides turn-by-turn voice directions (as well as onscreen directions) for both driving and walking.

The device, powered by Windows Mobile 6, also includes an RSS reader, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, and stereo Bluetooth. Being a Windows Mobile phone, the BlackJack II comes with Outlook Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile, and Office Mobile, which contains Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The BlackJack II will be one of the first Windows Mobile 6 devices from AT&T to support Microsoft's System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, which offers companies end-to-end solutions for managing and securing Windows Mobile devices. It's also the first business-oriented smart phone with AT&T Video Share, which enables users to stream live video during a voice call.

The Samsung BlackJack II will be available by the end of the year for $149.99 (with a two-year contract and mail-in rebate).

Does this device have what it takes to keep pace with the BlackBerry Curve and to take on the upcoming HSDPA-enabled Motorola Q? Stay tuned for a full review.
