Interacting with your GPS system has only gone as far as inputting your address and listening to a voice tell you where to go--until now. TomTom today announced the TomTom GO 720. This GPS device gets a wider screen than its predecessors, as well as a makeover and the company's new TomTom Map Share program.

TomTom Map Share lets users share map improvements and tweaks, such as new or closed roads. Users can make changes to their maps right from their GO 720 and can receive other users' changes by plugging their devices into their computers and using TomTom Home, TomTom's free desktop application.

The New TomTom GO also comes with some new safety features. A Help Me menu includes information such as the nearest police station, hospital, or car-repair service. It also lets users quickly identify their locations for emergency-assistance providers. Other additions to the TomTom GO 720 include extras such as voice-recording capability that lets users be led to their destinations by their own voices, or the voices of their friends or family members.

The TomTom GO 720 will be available across the United States and Canada at the end of July.
