Today, Sling Media announced three new additions to the Slingbox family: the Slingbox Tuner, the Slingbox AV, and the Slingbox Pro. These new items follow up the successful Slingbox , a device that connects to a cable box, satellite receiver, or digital video recorder to redirect television programming to the computer of your choice.

The Slingbox AV ($179.99) gives those who have digital cable, a satellite receiver, or a DVR the ability to watch and control television from any laptop or Windows-based mobile device. It's two-thirds the size of the original Slingbox, supports 16:9 widescreen formatting, and includes 640 x 480p standard-def support, high-quality video compression, and has inputs for S-Video, composite, and Ethernet connections. The Slingbox Tuner (also $179.99) is similar to the Slingbox AV except that it has a built-in TV tuner, two coaxial inputs, and is designed for users who have basic analog cable without a setup box.

Multimedia mavens will love the Slingbox Pro ($249.99), as it's intended for the sophisticated A/V customer. It offers a slew of connections, including two S-video ports, two composite inputs, two composite outputs, one coaxial input, one coaxial output, and a port for an HD setup box. Like the other Slingbox devices, it supports the 16:9 widescreen format and has high-quality video compression, with the addition of a remote control for A/V devices.

These new Slingbox products are currently available.
