Sprint is collecting all the mobile applications it can this summer. Adding to its exclusive Pandora partnership, today it announced a partnership with Intercasting Corp.'s Anthem, a mobile social-networking platform. With Anthem, customers can easily access popular social-networking sites such as LiveJournal, Rabble, Vox, and Xanga on their cell phones. (When asked why Facebook and MySpace were left off the list, Sprint said the Anthem service has the ability to quickly launch any social-networking site it adds to the list in the future.)
The Anthem application provides a Web-like interface that will give Sprint customers a fully branded and customized pocket version of social-networking services. Users will be able to view photos, send and receive messages, post comments, and search profiles right through the mobile application.

The Anthem client will be available starting next week on 15 Sprint phones, including the LG Fusic, Motorola KRZR, and Motorola RAZR, for $2.99 each per month, plus standard data charges. Sprint customers interested in getting the service can go to their phone's Web browser, select Messaging, select Social Zone, and then choose the service they wish to download.
