Opening day is just over a week away, and Apple is prepping its iTunes service to carry Major League Baseball video for the 2007 season. MLB video on iTunes will include a daily 25-minute MLB.com Daily Rewind highlight show and two full-length "Games of the Week." Individual episodes of MLB.com Daily Rewind and each Game of the Week will cost $1.99, or you can purchase a Multi-Pass for a month of Daily Rewind shows for $7.99 or a Season Pass for every Game of the Week at just $19.99. Customers can also purchase MLB.com Baseball's Best series showcasing classic baseball games for $1.99 each. And to kick off the season, iTunes is offering the MLB.com 2007 Season Preview Show as a free download.
The service does look like an attractive, more affordable option to expensive cable sports packages and Internet-based services like mlb.tv--which streams any live game over the Internet for $14.95 per month or $89.95 for a season pass--but for now we're content to get our highlights from SportsCenter. Of course, if iTunes offers a team-specific season pass, we'd definitely reconsider.
Price: $1.99; $7.99; $19.95
