Klipsch scores major points for design. The iGroove’s concave curves and silver color help the speakers standout as the most attractive set we tested. The three buttons (Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power) are located front and center, and have a good, firm feel. The included remote, a matching silver half circle, is also a nice touch compared to the standard credit card accessory generally included in these speaker systems.

The iGroove’s sound is quite clear, even at maximum volume, offering up the most powerful low-end of all of the systems tested. The effect was immediately gratifying when we pumped up the volume on the Flaming Lips’ distortion “The W.A.N.D.” Unfortunately, when tracks are played at a low volume, there was an audible hiss, which is a bit of a disappointment for a $280 system.

Klipsch’ iGroove lacks some of the subtlety and depth of the SoundDock, but at high volumes, it’s the perfect choice for anyone who wants to entertain a roomful guests without having to break out the CDs. The iGroove’s unique design and slightly lower price helped it edge out the SoundDock for our pick.
