The Logitech mm50 dock straddles the line between portable and stationary better than any of the other speakers we tested. It’s sleek, small, and thin, weighing only 1.6 pounds. Logitech includes a case, making it easy to slip the mm50 into a carry on. An internal rechargeable battery lasts about ten hours on a charge and it’s the only portable set in our roundup that includes a remote.

The Logitech mm50s offer a surprisingly full sound for a set of portables, and while they can’t compete with the Bose SoundDock or the Klipsch iGroove, they wouldn’t be out of place sitting on your average road warrior’s desk in between sales trips. The 3D Stereo button, located on the speaker’s top between the Power and Volume buttons, widens the speaker’s aural periphery quite a bit, but the clarity slightly suffers. If there’s a compromise to be had between the ease of a portable system and the quality of a stationary set, the mm50 comes the closest, and it performs both tasks admirably.
