Budget Friendly Dell Inspiron 15 Now Available

Those on a tight budget--which is pretty much everyone these days--will appreciate the Dell Inspiron 15, a notebook with a 15.6-inch display and movie-friendly 16:9 aspect ratio (1366 x 768 pixels). This 5.8-pound machine starts at $600 and is available now through Best Buy. Dell will offer three color choices later this month on Dell.com: blue, black, and red. An Intel Pentium Dual Core processor powers the cheapest configuration, but you can equip this 5.8-pound notebook with Core 2 Duo CPUs, up to 4GB of RAM, and up to 320GB of storage space. Optional features include a Blu-ray drive, 1.3-MP webcam, and facial recognition software. When it comes to ports and slots, the Inspiron 15 has what you might expect in its price range, including VGA for connecting to an external monitor, 3 USB ports,  an ExpressCard slot, and a 7-in-1 flash memory reader. You won't find HDMI or eSATA ports here. We'll bring you hands on impressions of this affordable mainstream machine soon.
