In today’s technology driven world the need for a powerful computer at a budget friendly price point is imperative. In 2022 TECNO released their first ever ultrabook, the MEGABOOK T1, to fill the need for a budget minded laptop that would appeal to a younger generation of users. On Wednesday, March 1 in Barcelona on the MWC 2023 showfloor TECNO’s CEO will be joined by the chairman of Intel APAC to showcase 13th gen Intel CPUs and to officially reveal the global launch of the next step in TECNO’s budget friendly ultrabook series.
The MEGABOOK S1 2023 is comparably thinner and more powerful than its predecessor, weighing in at just 1.35kg with an impressively thin 13.5mm magnesium alloy body. It is only available in three colors, however, where the T1 line has seven color options available. The impossibly thin chassis and lightweight nature of the MEGABOOK S1 2023 makes it well suited for professionals and creatives on the go who may need to carry a high performance laptop around in a backpack or shoulder bag for extended periods throughout their day.
The laptop offers a 15.6 inch borderless display with a 16:10 aspect ratio allowing for better viewing of portrait oriented content. The display offers 450 nits of brightness and a screen resolution of 3.2K and an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also offers a DC smart sensor that can automatically dim the screen due to lighting changes. Four full frequency speakers and two tweeters boosted by DTS x ULTRA technology help round out the entertainment experience for when students need a break from the daily grind of school work to catch up on what their favorite content creators are doing.
The small statured MEGABOOK S1 2023 does not slack in power for the sake of its portability. The chassis offers seven ports for connectivity including a USB 4.0 port capable of transmitting data up to 40Gbps, fully functional USB-C ports, HDMI 2.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Under the hood the MEGABOOK S1 2023 offers an Intel Core i7-1360P with the option to choose 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB or 1TB of SSD storage depending on your needs and budget. A lightweight dual fan system utilizes TECNO’s Ice Storm technology to help keep the whole system nice and cool.
Gen Z are notable power users of mobile devices and TECNO has sought out to bridge the gap between mobile use and power computing with its OneLeap feature. Users with a TECNO smartphone are able to seamlessly connect their mobile device to a MEGABOOK S1 laptop via an over-the-air connection just by being within proximity. Once connected the two devices can share screens, data, file management, and even engage in reverse network sharing. With the launch of the MEGABOOK S1 2023 TECNO has also upgraded the SwiftTransfer feature, allowing for the transfer of files between the two devices via gesture input. Up to three screens can be shared at a time.
With all of that sharing and portability, however, you’ll still want to keep your device safe. The MEGABOOK S1’s 2MP AI camera and microphone are perfect for the most important of video calls, and the laptop itself can be secured via the fingerprint sensor found on the power button.
