Eee PC 901 and 1000 Official; New Versions to Sport Intel Atom, 802.11n and Flashy Colors
I am here in Taipei at the ASUS Eee PC press event. Like we have all been waiting for, ASUS has pulled the sheet off the new Eee PC 901 and 1000. Here is the low down on the newest additions to the Eee PC family.
The Eee PC 901 will sport Intel’s Atom processor. Similar to both offerings of the Eee PC 900, the Windows XP version will be available with a 12GB SSD and the Linux version with a 20 GB SSD. ASUS claims the system will get 7.5 hours of battery life.
The Eee PC 1000, sporting a 10-inch screen, will be available with Xandros Linux, a 40GB SSD, Intel Atom, 802.11n, Bluetooth and with up to 2GB of RAM. The system on a whole, though I can’t see much of it from my seat, looks more swanky than the original system. We couldn't be any more excited about the almost 92 percent keyboard.

The Eee PC 1000H
ASUS will also release a Eee PC 1000H which will be available with Windows XP and Xandros but will be the first Eee PC to sport an 80 GB hard drive. Similarly, it will be powered by Intel’s Atom and will include 802.11n and Bluetooth.

New Eee PC Colors
Those that couldn’t stand the pastel colors of the previous Eee PCs are in luck. ASUS promises that each of the new systems will be available in Sakura, Sweet Pea, Urban Metropolis, White Peony, Pearl White, and Fine Ebony. We don’t know what those correspond to just yet but we will let you know soon.
No word yet on U.S. pricing for these new systems, however, a U.S. representative tells us they will be available in early July.
The Eee Stick
After the new Eee PCs were demoed, ASUS CEO Jerry Shen came out on stage in none other than an Indian Jones costume. He is apparently the ASUS "adventurer." Shen not only came out with a whip but also with an Eee Stick. Similar to a WiiMote the Eee Stick will allow you to control the screen with a small joystick.
