The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event is a welcome surprise, and it introduced us to an all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition.

Samsung gave us a bunch of customization options in a short and snappy event, giving us a rundown of the 49 different combinations with the Bespoke edition, which customers can customize when shopping on the Samsung Store. Essentially, it's "tailored to fit you."

We're also getting a One UI 4 update, along with a new collaboration with Samsung in the form of Maison Kitsuné, a French-Japanese electronic music record label and fashion label. The new editions are all available exclusively at Samsung.com today.

You can catch the livestream as it happened on Samsung's official Unpacked page, or on Samsung's YouTube channel. Check out the video to find out everything announced during the 20-minute presentation.

Read on for a look at what went down during the design-filled Samsung Unpacked event.

Refresh

And we're back! Techtober continues with Samsung hosting its very own virtual show. The tech giant's Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event will be interesting, especially seeing how Samsung already revealed its hand with the announcement of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 during August's Unpacked event. Since the event is named "Part 2," we're sure to get some extra features for both foldables.

The question is, will there be more? If Samsung does have some extra chips up its sleeve and manages to bring the Galaxy S21 FE to market, it would be exciting; the Galaxy S20 FE was one of our favorite affordable flagship phones of 2020. The leaks pointed to the Galaxy S21 FE being a similar value with the same design as the Galaxy S21, a slightly reduced triple camera array, and a drop to 6GB of RAM rather than 8 or 12GB.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE rumors are scattered, with some believing an imminent launch during the Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 event, while others reportedly claiming it won't arrive until January 2022 — closer to when the rumored Galaxy S22 will arrive.

As previously reported, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was rumored to be experiencing some launch roadblocks, according to Korean news platform Digital Daily. Samsung officials reportedly considered delaying its release, and even contemplated cancelling the launch altogether, due to the global chip shortage.

A leak from Naver, a Korean blog, contradicts the report, claiming that the Galaxy S21 FE is poised to be revealed at Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2 event (via DigitalTrends). Apparently, the mid-range phone will be available for pre-order on that date, and it will hit store shelves on October 29.

Plus, the Galaxy S21 FE also purportedly comes with a minimum of 128GB of storage, at least 6GB of RAM and a trio of cameras. Color options include violet, white, gray, green and light blue. Three hours until we find out.

Since this is "Part 2" of the Unpacked event that revealed the Galaxy Z Flip 3, here's a quick summary of our thoughts on the impressive foldable (it made it onto our list of best smartphones):

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3: The Galaxy Z Flip 3 delivers what most people seemed to want from the iPhone 12 mini, an ultra-compact phone that doesn’t compromise on the flagship experience. The 6.7-inch, 120Hz display on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is second to none; the cameras produce fantastic photos and videos; and the Snapdragon 888 chip should be fast enough to comfortably last you through the four years of security updates you get with the phone.

We haven’t reached the point where there are no sacrifices when opting for the foldable form factor, but the Galaxy Z Flip 3 gets very close. If you are willing to work around the short battery life, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 delivers a flagship phone experience unlike any other.

With the Google Pixel 6 announced, we've recently done a face-off between Google's new Pixel and the Samsung Galaxy S21. The results may surprise you, so make sure you check out the Pixel 6 vs. Galaxy S21 face-off. Who knows, whatever is announced by Samsung today may give the company the upper hand.

Just over an hour until the event kicks off.

Apparently Samsung wants us to "get ready to unfold something unmistakably you." We'll be heading to the Galaxy Studio filled with extra terrestrials, according to the short clip.

We're in the final 20 minutes before Samsung reveals all. Head on over to Twitter and you'll find Samsung's unique #SamsungUnpacked hashflag. It looks like a near-folded Galaxy Z Flip with different colors. Could we be getting a new range of colors for the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3?

We know the most likely announcement is customization options for the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. This was available with the Galaxy Z Fold 2 last year but has not been an option for either of the 2021 foldables. While that was limited to the phone's hinge, the multi-colored boxes in the invite and corresponding video suggest maybe this could go further. While this may be irritating to those who already bought a Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3, this would be an excellent addition from Samsung as we've seen little customization available on phones in recent years.

T-minus five minutes! We're not sure how long Samsung's Unpacked event will last, but however long it is, be sure to have some popcorn on standby. We're seeing a recap of the designs of all the past Unpacked events.

By the way, don't worry about that refresh button, this live blog will do it all for you.

Here we go.

Samsung kicks things off with a nifty animation sequence, showing off different color concepts of what appears to be the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. We think we know what this is leading to.

We're seeing a quick recap of features the Z Flip 3 features, something we take a deeper look at in our Z Flip 3 review, if you're interested.

Samsung's Stephen Hawke takes over with a summary of the different advantages of the Galaxy Z Flip 3, along with the easy switching over with the Samsung Switch feature.

Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition announced. This includes a whole range of colors, from what it appears to be blue, pink, yellow, white and plenty more. Samsung is offering a bunch of different customizable options, including colors, styles and pictures. Interesting.

There are 49 different combinations with the Bespoke edition, which customers can customize when shopping on the Samsung Store. Each will be stored as well. Essentially, it's "tailored to fit you."

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition is available today, exclusively at Samsung.com. Customers will even be able to customize the device further in the future, albeit at an extra cost.

One UI 4 lets users customize their own experience when using the Samsung galaxy. This includes personalizing their own UI, from the background colors to hanging widgets like picture frames. Widgets also have a new rounded look. Plus, users can dim the screen using the new "extra dim" setting. Well, it is nearly Halloween, after all.

The Bespoke Edition doesn't just stop at the Z Flip 3, as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will also be getting the same customization treatment. This means fans can get over to Samsung.com and order different color watches and bands to mix and match with.

We're fans of Samsung's colors, so we're happy to see all the different customization options to choose from.

Maison Kitsune has now partnered with Samsung, which means we're getting a whole bunch of different fox-like designs. The limited-edition designs are available today, with a Maison Kitsune purple watch band being available this December.
